EMDR & Trauma
Healing Through Untamed Growth
A Letter to You
To you travelers on the path to healing
If you’ve found your way to this page, chances are you are carrying something a bit heavier - emotions or experiences that still linger, still ache, or still find a way to show up in your life when you least expect them.
First, I want you to know this: you are not broken, and you are not alone.
I see your courage to tread the path ahead and I am so happy you are here braving the wilderness.
I am here to tell you that healing your trauma is possible and that you have the strength to do this.
Despite your fears, you are here because something inside of you is telling you to take this step.
I am here to walk this path to healing with you.
You just have to take that first step and join me.
Warmly,
Gabriella
“Human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma . . . the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening . . .

What is EMDR?
When a distressing event happens in our lives, sometimes our brains do not fully process it and these memories can get “stuck” leaving us feeling triggered, disconnected, or caught in old patterns even years later. We all have internal beliefs that are created by both positive and negative experiences in life. These experiences significantly shape who we are and how we experience our world.
EMDR will help you process the experiences in an adaptive way, release the stuck emotional energy, develop new positive beliefs, and ultimately take your power back. EMDR helps you process experiences or emotions while using rapid, guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation (like tapping or sounds) to help activate parts of your brain that are not active during talk-therapy.
The “rapid eye movements (REM)” mimic REM-sleep while you are awake. During REM-sleep cycles, your brain processes your day and stores it in long-term memory networks with the aid of bilateral rapid eye movements. Through reprocessing, we are helping your brain “re-file” memories so they no longer feel as fresh and overwhelming. This allows you the space to forge new positive beliefs that will define who you are moving forward as you heal.
Here’s what the EMDR process looks like:
We start by creating safety, within you, and within the therapy relationship. You will learn calming skills to support your healing. We will build a trusting therapeutic relationship. We will make sure you feel ready and grounded before beginning any trauma processing.
We explore what is keeping you stuck. You decide what memories or beliefs to work on, and how much or as little as you want to share. We go at your pace. You are always in control.
We use eye movements, tapping, or sounds to help your brain reprocess and release emotions. I am with you every step of the way.
Positive beliefs and new perspectives are “installed” in your brain. You heal and move forward with a new understanding of yourself.
The EMDR process is structured to ensure safety and results, but it is also flexible to support your comfort and readiness.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a proven, evidence-based therapy approach created to treat PTSD and trauma. Through research and experience, we have learned that EMDR helps people overcome just about anything that has been holding them back. This can be trauma, or it can be any life experience or negative belief that has made a significant impact on you and keeps you going in circles. Consider this.. What themes or issues seem to be keeping you stuck right now? What do you wish you could believe about yourself?
